FAQ

Is DotDue part of FMCSA or USDOT?

No. DotDue is a private prep and reminder service for interstate carriers (HM-permit carriers OK). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of USDOT or FMCSA.

Can I file for free without DotDue?

Yes. File free at motus.dot.gov. Ask FMCSA (ask.fmcsa.dot.gov) is for help only.

Do you submit the MCS-150 for me?

No. You confirm every prefilled field and file yourself. An “I filed” click in DotDue is not proof of filing.

What’s in the $39 prep pack?

Your statutory due month/year, a draft worksheet with public census fields prefilled for you to confirm, and a step-by-step guide. You still complete mileage, cargo, counts, and signature, then file free at Motus.

How is this different from $149–$199 filing services?

Those services typically prepare and/or submit for you. DotDue is cheaper prep + optional reminders; you keep control and file free at Motus. Third-party filing prices around $149 were verified Nov 1, 2026 (GovComplete, Truckopedia, TI Pro — links on pricing).

Why aren’t Nov/Dec due months shown?

Under 49 CFR 390.19T, due months run January–October only (last digit 0 maps to October).

What about the Motus enforcement pause?

FMCSA has temporarily paused enforcement of the biennial update — including inactivation for missed updates due on or after June 1, 2026 — while Motus stabilizes (page last updated Sep 10, 2026). The update itself is still required and still free to file. Source: FMCSA temporary suspension notice. DotDue will not scare you with fines or deactivation while that pause is in effect.

How do refunds and cancel work?

Prep pack: refundable within 7 days if you have not downloaded the PDF. Reminders: cancel anytime; access through the paid period; no partial-period refunds. Details on pricing and in the Terms.
