MCS-150 biennial update prep & reminders for interstate carriers

Private service · Not affiliated with USDOT or FMCSA

Know your MCS-150 due month. Prep a draft. File free.

Under 49 CFR 390.19T, your biennial update is due by the last day of a month mapped from your USDOT number (January–October only — nobody is due in November or December). Filing with FMCSA is free. DotDue helps interstate carriers (and HM-permit carriers) prepare a worksheet from public census fields and reminds you before your statutory window. Next group we’re focused on: due by January 31, 2027.

Enforcement pause (plainly): FMCSA has temporarily paused enforcement of the biennial update — including inactivation for missed updates due on or after June 1, 2026 — while Motus stabilizes (page last updated Sep 10, 2026). The update itself is still required and still free to file. Source: https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration/temporary-suspension-biennial-update-requirement. DotDue will not scare you with fines or deactivation while that pause is in effect.

Who it’s for

A small, honest prep service aimed at interstate carriers (census carrier operation A) who file Form MCS-150 under 49 CFR 390.19T(a)(1). Intrastate carriers that need a Hazardous Materials Safety Permit (Form MCS-150B) are also in scope. Ordinary non-HM intrastate operations are not the focus. We are starting with carriers whose next statutory window ends January 31, 2027 (USDOT ending in 1 with an odd tens digit).
